As an ardent fan of Shahid Kapoor, I can’t help but feel a deep admiration for this multitalented actor who has managed to carve out his own niche in Bollywood, despite being born into a family of actors. His humility and hard work are truly inspiring.
In a heartwarming episode of Koffee with Karan, the charming duo Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput graced the couch. Their affectionate displays left the host, Karan Johar, feeling green with envy. They dished out intimate details about their private life, with Mira confessing that she always tells her husband “I love you” before bedtime. In return, Shahid revealed some adorable pet names he uses for his wife.
In one part of his talk show, movie director Karan Johar posed a question to Mira Rajput, asking, “What’s the last thing you say to Shahid before falling asleep?” She answered, “I tell him I love him.” Johar then remarked that it seemed like a romantic scene from a Valentine’s Day special. He then turned his attention to Shahid Kapoor and inquired, “What endearing terms do you use for Mira?” Kapoor replied that he calls her “Jaan, Baby, momomomo…” Johar asked if he uses those sounds, and Kapoor acknowledged doing so. Mira added that some of those sounds are made up.
Shahid, son of actors Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem, views himself as an outsider in Bollywood, even though he hails from a family deeply rooted in the industry. He explained this perspective in an interview with TopMob, stating, “I may be born to an actor father, but I’ve always tried to let my work speak for itself rather than relying on my family connections.” He further emphasized, “My father often told me, ‘Son, I have never told anyone who my father is. So why should you tell people? Prove yourself through your work.’
He mentioned, “Indeed, I hail from a lineage of performers, yet my father was the initial actor in our family. My grandfather, often referred to as dadaji, was a college professor and remarkably supportive of my father. For his time, he had an exceptionally open mind, allowing my father to pursue acting in Bombay. Initially, it seemed unconventional, but he encouraged him.
In terms of his professional life, Shahid Kapoor will soon appear in the film “Deva” directed by Rosshan Andrrews alongside Pooja Hegde. The release date for this movie is anticipated to be Valentine’s Day, 2025.
