Where ‘RHONJ’ Left Things in Season 14’s Post- Finale Special

As a long-time fan who has watched every season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, I must say that last night’s finale watch special was a rollercoaster ride of emotions! It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion – you know it’s not good, but you can’t look away.

Well, that’s that.

When “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” decided to skip the usual reunion special and end season 14 with a finale watch event instead, fans of this long-running Bravo show found themselves pondering what this unconventional approach might entail.

On Sunday evening, they received their response when the split cast reconvened at Rails Steakhouse in Towaco, New Jersey – the location of the dramatic finale that aired a week ago. Unlike the previous gathering, this time the cast was separated into two different rooms while Bravo filmed. The special was actually recorded last month – several months after the initial finale had been taped.

According to an earlier report in The Hollywood Reporter, during the screening of their season finale, the cast members were divided into groups according to their alliances. Melissa Gorga, Margaret Josephs, Rachel Fuda, Danielle Cabral, and Jenn Fessler sat together in one room, while Teresa Giudice, Jennifer Aydin, Jackie Goldschneider, Dolores Catania occupied the other. Notably, only Dolores visited the opposing room for a quick hello.

Bravo’s cameras captured everything – Sirens Media editors were busy at work – as the cast reacted spontaneously during the broadcast of the show, almost all the way through. With only a few minutes left from Sunday night’s special, the women were invited to express their regrets and share their final thoughts.

In the room and during their private conversations, each woman firmly stated that this incident marked a significant end for their larger social circle. Gorga unequivocally declared her relationship with Giudice, her estranged sister-in-law, and her family is finished. Cabral expressed regret over allowing Aydin into her life. Josephs referred to the finale as a battle between good and evil, while Goldschneider suggested that changes are necessary for the show. As Catania concluded, she nervously hoped it wasn’t their final interaction.

As a gamer diving into this reality show, I was hoping for some sort of resolution between the divided cast. However, it seems that the divide only deepened, with Fessler openly siding with one group and Catania appearing less neutral than usual throughout the season. The only point where all the women found common ground was their demand for Louie Ruelas to apologize for his inappropriate comment about wishing harm on Josephs’ child (he has since issued an apology on social media, as Giudice predicted he would).

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been following the twists and turns of RHONJ closely. For the first time in history, Andy Cohen, the executive producer, announced that this season wouldn’t feature a reunion episode. When you watch the finale, you’ll understand why he made that call – trust me, it’s going to be a rollercoaster ride!

The unconventional finale of the 14th season has ignited a series of debates over whether the cast of RHONJ might undergo a revival or restructuring. Meanwhile, sibling show The Real Housewives of New York City experienced its own cast reshuffle, and Vanderpump Rules is currently taking a break following the post-Scandoval season and the contentious reunion. However, Bravo has yet to disclose their strategies for season 15, and it’s unlikely they will do so anytime soon. Conversations about casting usually don’t commence until the current broadcast season concludes.

Cohen has mentioned on his SiriusXM radio program that no decisions have been made regarding the future of the city’s ‘Real Housewives’ version. He further explained, “We are planning to reimagine the show in some way.” However, he referred to this special episode as being similar to a series finale, stating, “It sort of feels like a series finale, right?”
