To catch the elusive Ember Rufflizard in Monster Hunter Wilds, head towards the Oilwell Basin area. This is where you’ll likely find this unique creature, as per the monster journal lore. The reason being that they thrive in hot environments, often near volcanic regions.
Ember Rufflizard resembles a Komodo dragon, but instead of the usual coloring, it has a luminescent sheen that spans from its head down to its tail. The majority of its body is black, which makes it challenging to see on the dark tar surface of the Oilwell Basin.
Regardless of your starting point, when you’re in the Oilwell Basin area, feel free to drop a marker on any location that falls between Area 2 and Area 4 on your map. This should increase your odds of discovering the Ember Rufflizard.
