In preparation for the Big Game, Taco Bell released an advertisement showcasing individuals captured on a Live Más Drive-Thru Cam. These regular people, who have had their photos taken by these real-life cameras, could potentially appear in the Super Bowl broadcast itself. Instead of using big-name celebrities like many other companies do, Taco Bell is opting out in its ad but will include a famous figure in the commercial for the upcoming advertisement (which seems to be a common trend nowadays).
In the upcoming Taco Bell commercial before the Super Bowl in 2025, it’s Doja Cat who takes center stage, a fact that’s been made clear multiple times throughout the ad. Interestingly, this isn’t her first time collaborating with Taco Bell; she also appeared in their Super Bowl ad in 2022, portraying a clown on a quest for Baja Blast. In this year’s commercial, however, Doja Cat plays a prank by photobombing a couple, only to be reprimanded by the Taco Bell staff because they prefer pictures of ordinary people or those who are moderately famous but not quite at the level of Doja Cat-level fame.
Doja Cat is one of the most popular rappers of the 2020s
Over the years, I’ve graced numerous ads, with my most buzzworthy moment being that Pepsi commercial where I reimagined “You’re the One That I Want” from Grease – it really set the internet alight! Brands like Pepsi and Taco Bell have taken notice of me, understanding that I’ve been one of the game-changing rappers/singers in recent times.
Since 2012, her music journey began when she introduced her debut single “So High” on SoundCloud. In 2014, her first EP titled “Purrr!” hit the scene, containing an upgraded version of “So High.” Her first full-length album, “Amala,” was unveiled in 2018. Since then, she’s been releasing hit songs like “Woman” and “Need to Know,” showcasing her growing popularity. The authenticity that resonates throughout her work might be the reason she gained significant attention in 2020 during COVID-19 lockdowns, offering a momentary escape for everyone seeking fun music despite closed nightclubs. With her three-minute tracks, Doja Cat helped us forget our worries temporarily.
Movie enthusiasts might recognize that Doja Cat contributed an original tune, “Vegas,” to the soundtrack for the 2022 film “Elvis.” But what you may not know is she also dipped her toes into acting in the second season of “Dave,” specifically in the episode titled “Somebody Date Me.” Here, she and Lil Dicky (Dave Burd) connect on a dating app and exchange messages. However, things don’t go as planned for him by the end. Interestingly, Doja Cat portrays herself in this episode, demonstrating her wit and humor, which is further evident in her music, her Taco Bell 2025 pre-Super Bowl commercial, and other aspects of her public persona.
