Why 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days Storyline With Veah And Sunny Is My Least Favorite Of The Season

As a long-time fan of 90 Day Fiancé and having watched every season with bated breath, I must say this season has been a rollercoaster ride. However, there’s one couple that stands out as the most frustrating duo yet – Veah Netherton and Sunny Mahdi. Their storyline is so infuriatingly unbearable that it makes me want to throw my remote at the screen!

This season of “90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days” has been a real test for me as a viewer. With a cast that started off pretty unlikable in Season 7, at least their stories helped soften my initial dislike. However, one couple stands out as the absolute worst – Veah Netherton and Sunny Mahdi. Their dynamic is the most toxic I’ve seen so far, and watching their storyline just makes me more frustrated by the minute.

Almost everyone in Veah’s circle advised her against secretly taking her ex, Rory, to South Africa, with Rory himself being among them. Despite these warnings, she chose to go ahead with it for some unknown reason. The consequences of this action became evident when Sunny spotted a photo of them together on the plane. With time, I find myself unable to tolerate this storyline, even compared to other letdowns this season.

Veah Missed The Point Of Why Sunny Was Upset About Rory Coming

Almost abandoning the whole plot, Sunny considered leaving after realizing Rory had brought Veah to South Africa with him. If he had gone through with it, this could have easily become my favorite storyline of the season. However, there was no need for her to devise such a secretive plan, as it became apparent when she tried to justify her actions to him. If she had simply told him she needed a reliable travel companion, perhaps things wouldn’t have turned out so poorly.

It appears that Sunny was unaware of numerous aspects of Rory and Veah’s relationship, including the fact they had conceived a child who later suffered a miscarriage. This revelation left Sunny feeling hurt because he wasn’t informed about it beforehand, especially considering their plans for a future together. I can understand his feelings since Veah kept such significant information about her former boyfriend-turned-best friend from him.

In a fashion similar to Niles Valentine and Matilda Nti, it seems that many of the situations in their relationships could have been resolved earlier, ideally before either party boarded a plane for a new life together. It’s puzzling to me how these 90 Day Fiancé couples can openly discuss the most personal aspects of their relationships with family members but struggle with having straightforward conversations about essential matters with their foreign partners.

I Have A Theory About Veah’s Real Reason For Lying About Rory, And It’d Be A Red Flag If So

Before embarking on this journey, I was aware that Veah had friends cautioning her against bringing Rory to South Africa, and even she sensed Sunny might react negatively. Still, instead of discussing it with Sunny first, I chose to board the plane with him, posting a photo before we took off.

My idea is that she might have felt inclined to publish that picture promptly, perhaps anticipating that Sunny could view it before things escalated into a conflict or argument.

Why 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days Storyline With Veah And Sunny Is My Least Favorite Of The Season

90 Day Fiancé’s Jovi and Yara Dufren opted for a humorous take on another franchise duo for their Halloween costumes, leaving many amused.

Additionally, I think it’s likely that Veah chose not to bring Rory along when traveling with Sunny, as she preferred to travel with her ex and possibly avoid a direct confrontation about finding an alternative travel companion internationally. It’s somewhat puzzling why she felt apprehensive about flying into the country by herself, given that Sunny was there to meet her at the airport.

It feels to me that Veah and Rory are like a new version of Tim Malcolm and Veronica Rodriguez. The latter duo’s co-parenting and best friends dynamic made it hard for them to suceed in their relationships. Sunny is going to have to be ok with having Rory around and, apparently, with Veah keeping him in the dark when she thinks they’re up to something he might not approve of. It’s an objectively terrible way to establish trust about the friendship and, overall, why I hate this storyline with a passion.

90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, which is aired every Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET on TLC, might change my existing viewpoint about this particular couple’s storyline, though I don’t hold much hope for it.
