With his impressive resume spanning over a decade in television writing and producing, there is no doubt that he brings a wealth of experience to the table.
In October 2024, when FBI, CBS’s popular crime drama series, comes back on TV, viewers might spot a significant shift behind the scenes. After six seasons under Rick Eid’s creative leadership, the cast and crew of FBI have chosen a new showrunner to steer Season 7. This captivating ensemble series offers an intimate glimpse into the day-to-day challenges faced by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New York field office.
With her teammates, including Special Agent Omar Adom “O.A.” Zidan (Zeeko Zaki), the communications expert Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto), and others, Maggie delves into a series of cases under the watchful eye of Dana Mosier (Sela Ward). On the team as well is Kristen Chazal (Ebonee Noel), an intelligence analyst, her partner Stuart Scola (John Boyd), White Collar investigator Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane), and Mosier’s new superior, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Isobel Castille (Alana de la Garza).

Who Is the New FBI Showrunner?

Given their extensive background in crime and police procedurals, fans of “FBI” can take comfort knowing the show is being guided by skilled hands. Moreover, Weiss’ stint on “Chicago P.D.” for three seasons from 2014 to 2017, where they wrote 12 episodes and produced 44, demonstrates an understanding of Wolf Productions’ narrative style. However, whenever a well-loved series transitions to new leadership, changes are inevitable. For better or worse, “FBI” is set to chart a new course under its fresh leadership.
What to Expect in FBI Season 7
As a devoted movie enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement about the return of FBI on CBS, set for October 15, 2024. With a fresh perspective under the leadership of Weiss, this series promises to take on a whole new look. For example, it’s been reported by Variety that Katherine Renee Kane, our beloved Special Agent in Charge, will be stepping down from the FBI. Since 2020, she’s filled the void left by Dana Mosier (Sela Ward), becoming the Bureau’s sharpest intelligence agent. Whether Maggie gets promoted or a new Special Agent in Charge takes her place remains to be seen.
