Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, known as one of the top-notch kart racers out there, has been released on platforms like PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. However, it’s puzzling to see that it hasn’t made its way onto Steam yet. Given its impressive sales figures, it seems unusual for a PC version not to be available.
Since Mario Kart World is releasing on the same day as Nintendo’s Switch 2, it seems that PC and Steam Deck could benefit from some go-kart racing games. However, it’s puzzling why Crash Bandicoot’s renowned kart racer isn’t available there at all – it just doesn’t add up.
Following the outstanding success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, fans couldn’t wait for a reboot of CTR (Crash Team Racing), hoping to sustain this winning streak. It didn’t take much time for developers to respond to these demands, and the result surpassed expectations. This revamped game not only ran smoothly and boasted improved visuals but also introduced a host of new characters to discover and tracks from other games such as Crash Nitro Kart.
The issue lies in the fact that Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has only been unveiled for consoles, but there’s no release on PC yet.
As a passionate fan, I can’t help but feel that the PC version of this game missed an opportunity to elevate my experience. While I personally prioritize gameplay over ultra-high frame rates and 4K visuals, it seems like incorporating these features wouldn’t have been too much effort for the creators. After all, online play tends to be smoother on PC, and it’s hard not to imagine that
It could’ve been exciting to incorporate customizable elements, such as mods, into the game Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. This feature would have allowed for unique character outfits or specialized vehicles, enhancing the overall experience. However, any potentially unsettling content within these mods is optional and can be avoided by players, ensuring a positive gaming environment tailored to their preferences.

It’s unfortunate that the reboot of the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy didn’t make it to personal computers. Lately, Crash has faced some hard knocks; his iconic role as the platform mascot has seen several games shelved due to Activision Blizzard focusing on creating more Call of Duty titles. The last time we spotted this character in action was in Crash Team Rumble, a distinct multiplayer game, albeit not much else.
It’s quite possible that we’ll eventually get a PC port of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, given that such ports have been released in the past. For those eager fans, an option could be emulating the Switch version if they own the cartridge. However, if they already own it on Switch, it might make more sense to just play it there instead.
Although it’s unfortunate that Crash Time Racing Nitro-Fueled doesn’t have a PC version yet, it’s reassuring to know it’s available on systems with backward compatibility features. Hopefully, we’ll get a PC port eventually, but for now, let’s enjoy the game on the platforms we have.
