As a longtime fan, I can’t help but appreciate the Culkin brothers’ journey from Hollywood’s child prodigies to mature actors. Kieran Culkin‘s recent revelation about his children not watching their beloved Christmas movies yet is both amusing and relatable. After all, who among us hasn’t found ourselves questioning whether our kids are ready for the tarantula scene or the creepy guy threatening to bite off fingers?
Kieran Culkin shares the reason behind his decision not to let his kids watch the popular Christmas films he made with his brother Macaulay Culkin.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that I, much like Macaulay Culkin back in the day, starred alongside my brother in the iconic films “Home Alone” and its sequel “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.” In these timeless classics, I played cousin Fuller while my brother brought Kevin McAllister to life. Though we were both kids during filming, I recently confided to E! News that there are still some spine-tingling scenes that might give my own children, Kinsey (5) and Wilder (3), a bit of a fright.
Kieran explained, “For a child of three, seeing the tarantula and hearing the man say he’d bite off all their fingers can be quite frightening. He suggested that this year they might be ready to watch ‘Home Alone’. If not, perhaps they’ll be ready next year.
In a recent chat with the Los Angeles Times, the star of ‘A Real Pain’ reminisced about filming the beloved 1990 Christmas movie. He confessed that he wasn’t entirely aware of the movie’s storyline during production.
Kieran reminisced that when he first watched Home Alone, he had no clue what the film’s plot was, as he himself was a part of it. He attended the premiere and found himself rolling with laughter. It was the funniest thing he had ever seen, yet he remained clueless about the movie’s storyline.
The actor from “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” remarked, “Devin Ratray, who portrays Buzz, deceived me by telling me that the film centered around him, and I fell for it. When I finally watched it, I found myself laughing out loud and thought, ‘Since Mac was always present on set, it makes sense that the movie would focus on him.’
The movie titled “Home Alone” catapulted Macaulay into stardom by casting him as 8-year-old mischief-maker Kevin. The plot revolves around this character, who inadvertently gets left at home, and must then protect his house from a couple of burglars on Christmas Eve.
