For a few weeks now, the newest installment in the Empyrean Series titled “Onyx Storm” has graced bookshelves. Since then, numerous speculations about the direction of the series have circulated, and fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on what’s to come for Rebecca Yarros and the upcoming TV show inspired by her novels. Interestingly, Yarros recently visited Amazon, and while her post didn’t reveal much, enthusiasts have been interpreting it carefully.
How Rebecca Yarros’ Trip To Amazon Had Onyx Storm Fans‘ Tongues Wagging
Here’s what happened. Rebecca Yarros is taking a bit of a break from her Empyrean Series to work on a contemporary romance, but it seems she has some free time to do some work-adjacent travel. She hopped over to Amazon Studios for International Women’s Day. Amazon, of course, is where Fourth Wing has been set up as a TV series. Take a look at her full post, and see what she innocuously wrote below.
1. First off, I’d like to extend a heartfelt Happy International Women’s Day to everyone!
2. Hey there, fellow cinephiles! Guess what? I’ve been in LA this past week and let me tell you, we’ve got some INCREDIBLE things lined up for you! Can hardly wait to share the details with all of you!
Hope your weekend is going wonderfully! ❤️
Indeed, her post primarily consists of a photo featuring Yarros standing in front of an Amazon backdrop, which has ignited speculation among fans. Although it’s well-known that Amazon likely sells numerous copies of Fourth Wing and is currently offering discounts on Onyx Storm, the intrigue lies in understanding why Yarros would be at Amazon. Could it be for a discussion about Fourth Wing?
- WE. ARE. READY. REBECCA! 🖤
- Fourth wing tv series????
- HOW DO I AUDITION FOR A DRAGON RIDER! I CAN DO MY OWN STUNTS😭
- OH MY GOD!!!!!!! FOURTH WING!!!!!!!! Pleaseeeee❤️🔥
Fans have created wild TikToks throwing out theories with much less evidence in the past, and honestly I’m thinking they are onto something here. However, despite a lack of evidence about what was officially going on, that didn’t stop them from getting extra excited about the potential forward momentum when it comes to Fourth Wing Season 1.
Rather than a multitude of individual posts, each garnering numerous likes, there was a focused discussion centered around one favored fan choice for the role: actor Emilio Sakyraya.
- Praying for Emilio as either Garrick or Bodhi! (I’m sorry, but I seem to be one of the few who doesn’t see him as Xaden at all 🙈) 🐉
- EMILIOOOOOOO PLEASEEEE
- I just neeeeeed to know if it’s Emilio 😭😭😭
- Emilio Sakraya for Xaden or we all riot.
Absolutely, the enthusiasm for this series is immense! Fans are actually looking so far ahead that they’ve begun speculating about who should be cast in the forthcoming TV show.
Where We Left Off With The Fourth Wing TV Series
Previously, the news about the movie adaptation of “Fourth Wing” was still under development, but there appeared to be a delay in bringing it to television screens. However, author Yarros had not yet met producer Michael B. Jordan (though that may have changed since she recently visited sunny California). Recently, a showrunner from “Breaking Bad,” Moira Walley-Becket, has been hired, and I’m genuinely optimistic that this development means fans will soon find out if their dream of seeing Emilio cast will come true (or be given a gentle letdown). After all, why else would she hint at a visit to Amazon?
It’s highly unlikely that this project will make it onto the 2025 TV lineup, unless by some Christmas miracle, we manage to air it towards the end of the year. However, I am genuinely hoping for some progress soon. The cancellation of ACOTAR still saddens me, but my attachment to Fourth Wing and its characters runs much deeper.
