While the comedian-actor claims he and his latest co-star make an unconventional dream team, he’s already generating buzz with a fresh concept. In fact, Ferrell has expressed interest in joining this year’s Sexiest Man Alive campaign, and Witherspoon has made a compelling argument for his selection.

The new Amazon Prime Video subscription-exclusive double wedding comedy’s been buzzing from the press and its premiere. While the two funny leads were on the carpet to attend the event, People caught up with them on the Step Brothers actor’s goals of being considered. The publication’s interviewer jumped right in to ask about the 57-year-old’s plans for his course of action. Ferrell shared he was throwing his hat in the ring for a second time after not beating out the unsuspecting 2024 SMA John Krasinski last year, saying:

Despite recognizing it probably stems from one of his comedic routines, I can’t help but hope that the actor from “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” takes home the award. There was a lot of humor surrounding last year’s winner, another comedy star from “The Office”, causing quite a stir and generating numerous memes. Ferrell could potentially create even more online amusement if he wins.

In all honesty, I believe there should be a campaign for this project, as I am confident that fellow Ferrell enthusiasts, like myself, would be overjoyed by the prospect.
