As a dedicated fan who’s been following Will Ferrell‘s hilarious journey since his SNL days, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of excitement about his latest project, “Street Justice”. With Peter Atencio at the helm and Dave Callaham penning the script, this film promises to be a rollercoaster ride of laughter and action.
Will Ferrell is hitting the streets for a new comedy feature from 20th Century Studios.
I’m thrilled to be part of bringing “Street Justice” to life, both as its producer and star, under the guidance of director Peter Atencio. The talented Dave Callaham is penning the script for this exciting project, which revolves around a character determined to dispense his unique brand of justice.
Ferrell, Jessica Elba from Gloria Sanchez Productions, along with David Koplan, take on the role of producers. Meanwhile, Callaham serves as the executive producer.
Atencio has directed the movies “Keanu” from 2016 and “The Machine” in 2023, and is renowned for his television work including “Key & Peele”, “The Last Man on Earth”, and “The Afterparty”.
Ferrell, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live alongside Harper Steele, appeared in this year’s Netflix documentary film titled “Will & Harper.” Notably, Ferrell has also been involved in other recent movie projects such as “Quiz Lady,” “Barbie,” and “Spirited.” Additionally, he lent his voice to the films “Strays” and the upcoming “Despicable Me 4.
He is expected to appear in the upcoming Amazon wedding-themed production titled “You’re Cordially Invited,” alongside Reese Witherspoon, as well as on the Netflix show “Golf,” where he shares the screen with Ramy Youssef.
Callaham is known for contributing to screenplays such as “Wonder Woman 1984”, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”. He’s also been involved in drafting the script for the upcoming live-action film “Masters of the Universe”, directed by Travis Knight and featuring Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, and Alison Brie.
Ferrell is managed by UTA, Mosaic, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. On the other hand, Atencio is represented by UTA and Artists First. Lastly, Callaham is handled by UTA, Kaplan/Perrone, and Hansen Jacobson.
Deadline was first to report the news.
