A couple of weeks have passed since “Coyote vs. Acme,” which was rescued by Ketchup Entertainment for a theater release, and its leading actor, Will Forte, remains stunned by the news.
In late 2023, the Looney Tunes movie, starring Forte and John Cena alongside an animated Wile E. Coyote, became the center of attention in Hollywood. When The Hollywood Reporter announced that Warner Bros. planned to cancel the film as part of a $115 million loss, it seemed the project would never see the light of day. However, a social media movement to preserve the movie sparked an acquisition agreement between Ketchup and Warners for global distribution rights.
At the premiere in Los Angeles for his latest production, “The Four Seasons,” on Thursday, Forte expressed to THR that no words can adequately convey his emotions regarding the film’s altered destiny.
He expressed that he hadn’t expected it to occur, but it suddenly happened without warning, leaving him overjoyed. “Thank you Ketchup Entertainment,” he exclaimed, filled with excitement. “I can’t wait for everyone to see this film! Just tell me what I need to do, and I’ll go above and beyond – even if that means going to the peak of Mount Everest!”
He was taken aback as it happened unexpectedly, leaving him ecstatic. “Thank you Ketchup Entertainment,” he said gratefully. “I can hardly wait for people to watch this movie! Tell me what I need to do, and I’ll make sure everyone knows about it – no matter where it takes me, even if that means climbing Mount Everest!
Previously, Forte openly criticized the decision to hold back the film’s release, stating to MovieWeb earlier this year that he found it “a complete nonsense” and further explaining, “It is such a charming movie. It truly deserves so much more… I can’t reveal the reasons behind the choice not to unveil it, but it infuriates me.
As for now, the movie, which is helmed by Dave Green and jointly produced by Chris deFaria and James Gunn, remains without an announced release date.
