Will GTA 4 Definitive Edition Release In 2025?

While GTA 6 is certainly generating a lot of buzz among gamers right now, I can’t help but wonder when we might see the remastered version – the GTA 4 Definitive Edition. Although Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed it yet, there’s been quite a bit of speculation that this project is in the works, according to several reports circulating online.

This year, releasing the remastered version of GTA 4 would be an ideal way to keep fans entertained until the launch of GTA 6 in May of next year. A recent report from trusted data miner Tez2 suggests that “someone at Rockstar may have hinted at the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, and by now it should be well into its development phase, approximately a year ahead“.

If what Tez2 claims is true, it might mean that the GTA 4 Definitive Edition could be released sooner than one might anticipate.

In March, Rockstar officially purchased Video Games Deluxe, a studio they had collaborated with for external projects. Now, this studio will be known as Rockstar Australia.

After the rough start of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, which was previously handled by Grove Street Games, this team appears ideally suited to bring about a remastered version of GTA 4.

Fans everywhere felt disheartened when Rockstar Games pushed back the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 by a full year, as this means a significant gap of more than ten years between installments in the popular franchise.

Instead, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was what players got in 2021, encompassing GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. This updated version of the trilogy, unfortunately, didn’t receive positive responses, prompting a change in developers from Grove Street Games to Video Games Deluxe, who managed to improve the mobile adaptations of the remastered games.

As a die-hard gamer, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the remastered version of GTA 4 might be on its way! With the successful re-release of Red Dead Redemption last year, featuring some awesome quality-of-life upgrades, it feels like Niko Bellic’s story could be in line for a similar treatment soon.

As a passionate fan, I can’t help but speculate that Rockstar Games shutting down the Liberty City Preservation Project might be a sign of an impending remaster of Grand Theft Auto 4. This ambitious project aimed to recreate GTA 4 within the engine of GTA 5, which fuels my hope for a potential revisit to the game’s classic world.

I’m looking forward to a modern edition of the game, considering that Liberty City might not reappear in Grand Theft Auto until 2039, if the development timeline for GTA 7 mirrors that of GTA 6.

Regardless of your choice, stay tuned right here for any new developments concerning the Grand Theft Auto 4 Definitive Edition as well as all future updates about Grand Theft Auto 6.
