In simple terms, more experienced actors are being added to the cast of the upcoming prequel series for “The Boys.” Actor Will Hochman has recently joined the lineup for the Prime Video project, titled “Vought Rising,” which will also feature stars Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. Amazon greenlit this series in July 2024. While details about Hochman’s role are still under wraps, fans can’t help but discuss their speculations online. Despite the show not yet being aired, it’s already generating buzz as a must-see for enthusiasts of the highly popular “The Boys” universe.
As per Variety’s report, the upcoming season of the show is being referred to as a “tangled web of a murder mystery” taking place in the 1950s. Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy, a character initially presented during the third season of The Boys. Similarly, Cash will carry on playing Stormfront (formerly known as Clara Vought), who is reported to be Frederick Vought’s wife and apparently the first successful Super ever created. Moreover, Mason Dye is rumored to feature in Season 5 of The Boys, portraying Bombsight – another early creation by Vought – as well as appearing in Vought Rising. As of now, production has not yet commenced, but it is expected to start later this year.
As Hochman prepares to step into his latest position, enthusiasts of the actor can revisit him in 21 episodes of “Blue Bloods,” where he portrayed Joe Hill, a part of the Brooklyn North Firearms Investigation Unit within the New York City Police Department. Additionally, Hochman appeared in the Apple+ TV series “Before” as Benjamin Walker, sharing the screen with Billy Crystal and Judith Light.
Paul Grellong is anticipated to serve as the showrunner and executive producer for the series titled “Vought Rising.” The team working on this production also includes Eric Kripke, Seth Rogan, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver from Point Grey Pictures, Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Ori Marmur, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr.
