Will Smith’s Video Of Martin Lawrence’s Wild Wedding Stunt From Bad Boys: Ride Or Die Is Great, But I Love The Comic’s Take On Filming It Even More

As a long-time fan of Martin Lawrence and the Bad Boys franchise, I must say that watching him take on such daring stunts at his age is nothing short of inspiring. The wedding scene in Bad Boys: Ride or Die was a thrilling spectacle, and hearing about Lawrence’s enthusiasm for performing it multiple times only adds to my admiration for the man.

As a gamer, when it comes to “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”, Martin Lawrence really stepped up his game, bringing his signature charm and laughter to Marcus Burnett’s character. But what really made this movie stand out was how he added some new twists to Marcus – like that wild wedding stunt that even Will Smith shared on social media! Recently, Martin himself talked about pulling off that epic on-set trick, and let me tell you, I’m all the more impressed with Big Momma’s House star’s account of it. In fact, I think I prefer his behind-the-scenes story to watching the amazing stunt video itself!

In the newest installment of the Bad Boys film series (that we’ve rated), the story starts at a wedding, with Mike marrying Christine, a new character. Marcus, Mike’s best friend and emotional confidant, delivers a heartwarmingly funny speech during the ceremony. Afterward, Marcus gets carried away celebrating and, while dancing energetically, experiences a minor heart attack – resulting in a brush with death. This dramatic turn is depicted as Marcus plunging into the ocean, only to cross over into another realm, where he encounters his deceased superior officer, Captain Howard.

According to a post by Will Smith on Instagram, directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah managed the falling scene by securing Martin Lawrence onto a slanted device. It’s an interesting backstage video you might want to watch, which is available below:

One might initially think that Martin might have some reservations or concerns about being confined and executing such a daring act. Yet, you could be taken aback by his actual sentiments regarding this situation.

How Martin Lawrence Felt About Performing The Stunt For Ride Or Die

Actor from “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins” recently graced Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where they talked about the triumph of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”. During the chat, Jimmy Kimmel played the same clip Will Smith had previously shared. Martin Lawrence admitted that he filmed that particular scene approximately seven times. Some might find the idea of having to do it multiple times challenging, but Lawrence himself found it enjoyable and dismissed any suggestions that he disliked it.

Frankly speaking, they managed to captivate me right from the start; the setup was engaging and well-executed. Yet, what truly hooked me was the sheer enjoyment it offered – I found myself yearning for more. In a way, it felt like being in Disneyland, where every experience is a delightful adventure.

According to a cast member, there was one key factor that significantly impacted the filming of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.” This element, they noted, greatly contributed to the production’s success.

59-year-old actor shows no signs of slowing down, and I admire him even more for a small comment he made in a YouTube video. Jimmy Kimmel discussed that earlier this year, he talked with Eddie Murphy, who shared stories about doing stunts for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. When asked if he ever declined to perform a requested stunt on the Ride or Die set, the Wild Hogs star said there were no such instances. Despite earning millions of dollars for his work, I respect the dedication of this veteran comedian, especially at his age.

There might be some speculation about whether a fifth ‘Bad Boys’ movie will materialize. During an interview, Will Smith hinted at potentially collaborating with Martin Lawrence again, but expressed the need for a compelling reason to produce another film. If a fifth installment comes to fruition, it’s uncertain if director(s) would ask Lawrence to perform a daring stunt like the one in the wedding scene. However, given his positive sentiments towards participating in such a scene, I believe he’d be open to reprising the role.

Check it out! “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” is now streaming online and can be purchased on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Meanwhile, take a peek at our 2024 movie schedule for updates on current films playing in theaters as well as those set to hit cinemas soon.
