As a devoted follower of streetwear and a lover of all things music-inspired, I am absolutely thrilled about WIND AND SEA‘s Fall/Winter 2024 collection! The fusion of UK garage and grime music into their designs is not only refreshing but also incredibly captivating. I can almost hear the beats pulsing from the vibrant, eye-catching pieces they’ve created.
After the successful collaboration with the NBA’s “Champions” for their capsule collection – one of many impressive partnerships they’ve had recently – I, as a fan, am thrilled to see Takashi Kumagai’s WIND AND SEA returning their attention to their mainline collections. For their Fall/Winter 2024 release, this Tokyo-based label is looking once more to one of its favorite sources for inspiration: the music scene.
Delving into the crossroads where soundscapes and fashion trends meet, WIND AND SEA is investigating the impact of UK garage and grime music within its design, going as far as incorporating 1990s synthesizer ad catchphrases onto campaign photos. The main visual suggests, “Imagine a sound, create it…”
This assortment features an array of unique shapes, encompassing various styles such as padded vests, jacket collars, and sherpa-lined fleeces. Additionally, knitted items stand out, with cardigans and pullovers appearing vividly in shades of bold red and orange.
