As a long-time fan of Wiz Khalifa, I have come to expect the unexpected from him when it comes to his music releases. With four mixtapes already under his belt for 2023 alone, I was starting to wonder if he’d take a break in 2024. But lo and behold, he surprised us all with yet another drop – the mixtape “Wiz Owens”.
I, as a fan and avid gamer of hip-hop music, have come to appreciate Wiz Khalifa’s unique approach to releasing music. He’s known for surprising us with new mixtapes, often dropping them seemingly out of the blue. In an incredible year like 2023, Wiz graced us with no less than four tapes that left us all in awe: “Star Power,” “See Ya,” “Khali Sober,” and “Decisions.”
Khalifa hadn’t released any recordings in 2024 up until then, but he had announced the upcoming birth of his second child the previous month. Over the weekend, he unveiled plans to drop an album and a mixtape soon with the title Wiz Owens.
13 songs long, this tape arrived the very next day. Kicking off the venture is the energetic hit “Jet Lag,” which includes contributions from Young Deji, 24hrs, and Sosamann.
As a dedicated fan of Khalifa, I can’t help but feel excited when he responds to my queries! When asked about the release of his upcoming album, he shared that he’s currently working on sorting out the samples. So, while we wait for the main event, let’s enjoy the tunes he’s been sharing in the meantime!
