‘Wolfs’ Director Jon Watts to Miss Venice World Premiere After Catching COVID

As a seasoned gamer who has survived countless game glitches, updates, and DLCs, I must say that the news about Jon Watts missing the world premiere of Wolfs due to Covid is a bit of a letdown, but not entirely unexpected. Just when you think you’ve seen it all in the gaming world, Hollywood surprises us with real-life plot twists!

At the inaugural press conference for Apple’s eagerly awaited action comedy “Wolves” during the Venice Film Festival, I had some less-than-ideal updates to share as one of the team members involved in the project.

Actor from Hollywood, sitting next to Brad Pitt, disclosed that the movie’s director, Jon Watts, wouldn’t attend the world premiere of our film in Italy this Sunday evening as he has tested positive for Covid-19.

“Upon his long journey, he contracted COVID,” Clooney noted, expressing a weary expression and shaking his head.

Additionally, Watt was not present at the news conference, thereby allowing Pitt and Clooney to represent the film during their speech.

Pitt and Clooney share the screen in an action-comedy where they play professional troubleshooters assigned to conceal a high-profile crime. Initially operating independently, these two “solitary individuals” are compelled to collaborate. Before long, their evening takes an unexpected turn, leading them down a path neither of them could have foreseen.

Watts is particularly renowned for helming the latest Sony trilogy of Spider-Man films, and the final installment, “No Way Home,” has broken records at the box office, raking in an impressive $1.9 billion worldwide.

The film titled “Wolfs” is brought to you by Clooney’s Smokehouse and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. It features Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind, and Zlatko Burić in the cast. George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner produced the film alongside Watts and McGunigle. Michael Beugg serves as executive producer.

A few days prior to their arrival in Venice, it was announced that Watts had secured a deal with Apple to pen and direct a new Wolf‘s film sequel. It remains undetermined whether Clooney and Pitt have likewise agreed to appear in the upcoming continuation.
