Wonder Woman Game Restarts Development After All These Years

As a diehard gamer and massive Wonder Woman fan, I’ve got some not-so-great news to share about the long-awaited Monolith game. Contrary to our expectations, there’s no concrete release date or even a window in sight for this highly anticipated title. Needless to say, this isn’t the update we were hoping for. The truth is, Wonder Woman has been primarily confined to DC and crossover fighting games, leaving us yearning for a standalone adventure that truly does justice to the iconic superheroine.

According to Bloomberg’s report, Monolith resumed work on their game last year from the very beginning, discarding all previously planned elements in the process. This means that whatever was initially intended for the game has been abandoned and they are essentially starting over. Some old data and concepts might be retained, but fundamentally, they are back at square one.

Based on the latest reports, it appears that Warner Bros. has invested around $100 million into the development of the Wonder Woman game. Given that a fresh start is being taken, this could signal potential concerns. Initially, we were aware that the game would incorporate the popular Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor, but beyond that, details were scarce. Now, there’s uncertainty as to whether this feature will remain in the revamped DC game.

It’s disappointing but not unexpected, given the challenges Warner Bros. has been facing lately. For instance, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League halted further updates, Mortal Kombat 1 cancelled additional story DLC, and Multiversus will soon vanish from online stores. Fans have unfortunately become familiar with such significant hurdles, which is regrettable.

The uncertainty surrounding the release of the Wonder Woman game is quite disheartening, especially considering the rumors about Diana battling a classic adversary and potentially her fellow Amazons. Regrettably, it seems that only Warner Bros. has the inside scoop, but we can’t ignore the fact that their gaming efforts have been focused more on monetization rather than quality production in the past.

I’m crossing my fingers that the Wonder Woman game will see daylight. Additionally, it looks promising that Konami could be releasing a brand-new Castlevania game on contemporary gaming platforms in the near future. In other news, Harrison Ford has expressed his appreciation for Troy Baker’s portrayal of Indiana Jones as well.
