Young Noble, a member of Tupac Shakur’s rap group the Outlawz, has died. He was 47.
It was announced on Instagram that E.D.I., a fellow member of the Outlawz, passed away, with reports suggesting he took his own life.
Today, I received devastating and shocking news – my beloved brother and long-time partner, Rufus Young Noble Cooper, ended his life this morning. May you find peace, Rufus.
He stated, “I can’t discuss this at the moment because I need time to process it. Many people fight a real battle with mental illness, and I encourage everyone to check on their loved ones.
Shakur’s official Instagram account, run by his estate, reposted content from Mean.
Born in Sierra Madre, California, Rufus Lee Cooper III, also known as Young Noble, later relocated to New Jersey during his childhood years. It was there that he crossed paths with future Outlawz group members Hussein Fatal and Yaki Kadafi.
In California, following his return to his home state, Cooper encountered Shakur. Notably, this encounter took place during the time when the renowned rapper was producing his 1996 album titled “All Eyez on Me”. Cooper first appeared on Shakur’s posthumous album, named “The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory”, and featured prominently in tracks such as “Bomb First (My Second Reply)”, “Hail Mary”, “Life of an Outlaw” and “Just Like Daddy”.
In the year 2002, he launched his first solo album titled “Noble Justice.” A decade later, his second album, “Son of God,” was released. This was followed by “Powerful” in 2016 and “3rd Eye View” in 2019.
