Onya outshone fellow competitors Lexi Love, Sam Star, and Jewels Sparkles to claim the crown. Before she was officially crowned queen, Onya showcased her talent in a captivating lip-sync performance of Lady Gaga’s latest hit “Abracadabra” alongside Jewels, who finished as second place in the season.

Previously during the show, the four remaining contestants presented their unique compositions. Performances from Onya and Jewels were exceptional, securing them the first and second places in the competition. Additionally, Crystal Envy was chosen as the latest Miss Congeniality, an honor bestowed upon her by her fellow competitors.

In the final episode, RuPaul Charles bestowed the Lifetime Achievement recognition upon none other than Liza Minnelli. This esteemed accolade was previously given to stars like Elvira and Bob Mackie, with the latter receiving it for the first time during season 15. The illustrious actress from ‘Cabaret’ now joins their ranks, just as Elvira did last year.

Onya acceded the throne following Nymphia Wind’s reign as the winner of Drag Race season 16.

In her recent interview with TheWrap on a Wednesday, Nymphia suggested that the new champion should wear their title with honor and simply have an amazing time during this year. She emphasized that nothing lasts forever, so they should savor each moment and appreciate every second of their reign, not taking it for granted.

Approximately four weeks following the conclusion of season 17, the highly-anticipated spin-off of the hit show, “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars“, will launch its groundbreaking 10th season. Starting May 9 on Paramount+, “All Stars 10” will bring back 18 queens from the original series to contend in a “Tournament of All Stars” and fight for a place in the “Drag Race ” Hall of Fame.
