During a recent chat on Bharti TV’s podcast, Zareen Khan was questioned about life post her debut movie, Veer, and her sentiments towards Bollywood. Zareen openly discussed that following Veer, she encountered numerous negative reviews.
For her, the movie marked a significant turning point in her life. Looking back, the actress from Veer admitted that she had been thrilled when people began comparing her to Katrina Kaif. “Considering my past struggle with weight,” she continued, “being compared to someone as beautiful as Katrina was indeed a big deal for me.”
However, Zareen being compared to Katrina in the industry “backfired” in her career.
Zareen Khan was called “arrogant”, reveals the actress
During the same podcast, Zareen Khan recalled being labeled as “arrogant” by well-known figures within the Indian film industry following the premiere of Veer.
Zareen admitted that she often felt like an inexperienced newcomer in the industry, struggling to connect with many others. She confessed that she previously had reservations about speaking up, but her reluctance was mistaken for aloofness by some.
The actress from Housefull 2 reminisced about instances where people criticized her with the comment, “Because Salman Khan launched me, she must think she’s so superior.”
When Zareen Khan was scared to leave her house
After the comparison with Katrina Kaif spiraled out of control, Zareen Khan admitted feeling apprehensive about leaving her home. In the past, she recalled experiencing criticism for her choice of clothing and being labeled as overweight, which became more pronounced as the comparison took a negative turn against her.
Initially, Zareen opted to stay at home, but later, she expressed that she doesn’t dwell in negative feelings for a prolonged period.
For approximately three years now, Zareen Khan has been absent from the big screen. The last time we saw her was in the 2021 film “Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele”. Some of her most recognized films include “Housefull 2” and “Hate Story 3”.
