Zegna FW25 Is Standing on That Hill

On Monday afternoon at Allianz MiCo, Zegna took fashion week attendees on a journey to a lush, green hillside reminiscent of those in Australia, which houses the world’s premium wool and where Ermenegildo Zegna initially launched his Wool Trophy Awards, an annual event started in 1963. In this ceremony, the highest quality fleece is transformed into a unique thread that later produces the lightest and softest fabrics. This special thread is known as “Vellus Aureum,” the same name given to today’s catwalk showcase.

Models, including actor John Turturro from the show “Severance”, strolled casually through a lifelike set for the Fall 2025 collection by the brand. This assortment featured deconstructed blazers, worn Oxford suits, overcoats with cashfur collars, roomy blousons with shawl collars, heavy cardigans, and sharp V-neck shirts layered over various crewneck tops. Designer Alessandro Sartori envisions the Zegna man as someone who has amassed a wardrobe of valuable items over the years, not just for their material worth but also for the emotions attached to them. The collection doesn’t discriminate by age; it caters to everyone from Generation Z to Baby Boomers, with models of various ages gracefully strutting on Zegna’s slopes.

In keeping with its organic theme, the color palette of the collection was grounded, featuring shades such as fossil, juniper, deep foliage, serra, beaver and Gattinara red, to name a few. However, contrasting this natural aesthetic, the men in the label were seen sporting chunky loafers, seemingly rushing through the neatly trimmed greenery en route to their high-paying positions.

In its final display, the collection drew inspiration from Turin, a city in northern Italy known for many businessmen commuting to their workplaces. Notably, Turin is recognized as a hub for Italy’s automotive industry. Sartorial observed that there was an authentic “Torinese” feel to this collection, reflecting in the sophisticated silhouettes and casual manner of wearing the garments, which embodies a unique Italian style.
