As a fan who has followed Zendaya’s career since her days on Disney Channel, it’s nothing short of breathtaking to see her rise to such heights. Her Emmy wins for Euphoria are testament to her incredible talent and dedication to her craft. However, it’s her down-to-earth personality that truly endears her to us fans.
2020 saw Zendaya claim the title of youngest Emmy winner for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at just 24 years old, thanks to her portrayal of Rue on Euphoria. She added another Emmy win to her collection in 2022. Although filming for the third season of Euphoria hasn’t begun yet, there’s a good chance she could be in line for more Emmy nods. In the interim, Zendaya shared an amusing story about how she stores her awards, but it doesn’t quite match Chris Hemsworth‘s tale of keeping Thor’s hammer near the toilet!
While on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Zendaya was asked by the American Idol winner just where she keeps her two Emmys. They’re not in some sort of trophy room or even on a trophy shelf, but you could probably call it that. The Greatest Showman star revealed she keeps them on her piano, admitting she decided to take up the hobby during lockdown. That’s apparently led to a stark change in the way her piano is used, as she explained in the following clip from Instagram:

I don’t know what’s better: the fact that Zendaya has her Emmys just out in the open or that her piano has just become a glorified shelf. She’s also definitely not the only one to abandon a hobby started during lockdown. Honestly, this is further proof that she’s like any other normal person. Of course, aside from the fact that she has two Emmys that she casually keeps on her piano. She’s also the youngest two-time Emmy winner, so I don’t blame her for wanting to show it off. Still, I say that Chris Hemsworth’s chosen location for Mjolnir is wilder.
2018 saw Hemsworth disclose that he placed a replica of Thor’s iconic hammer near his home toilet. He later admitted that the hammer has relocated from its toy box to the mantelpiece, but occasionally resurfaces in the bathroom as well. Finding the hammer in such close proximity while simply visiting the restroom? That’s an unusual choice for storing Mjolnir, and it’s not the spot I would initially expect to find it in.
It’s uncommon to find Emmys sitting on a piano, but it certainly sparks interesting conversations. It wouldn’t be surprising if many prominent figures, like Zendaya, keep their awards, regardless of size, displayed casually around their homes. Why not display them proudly, especially when there’s a convenient “shelf” available to showcase them?
Since filming for Euphoria Season 3 is set to begin in early 2025, viewers will have a little more time before they can find out if Zendaya delivers another Emmy-winning performance.
