As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for streetwear and fashion, I can confidently say that this week has been nothing short of a visual feast! From the highly anticipated reunion between Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami to the final collaboration between Palace and Carhartt WIP, it’s clear that 2024 is wrapping up with a bang.
This week, Zendaya made headlines as she represented Louis Vuitton in their collaboration with Takashi Murakami for their re-edition collection. The highly anticipated union between Louis Vuitton and Murakami was showcased through a photoshoot and a video featuring the artist.
This week, the collection officially unveiled itself, and it’s just as intriguing as its advertisement. It encompasses more than 200(!) dual-purpose leather items and accessories!
This week saw a multitude of reunions, as Carhartt WIP joined forces once more with Palace Skateboards for their last collaboration of the year, while BAPE and CLOT came together again to produce an enthralling and vibrant joint project.
Significant shipments emerged from the brand visvim, showcasing their “Quality We Choose” philosophy in the SS25 line without much ado. Furthermore, a collaboration between Gosha Rubchinskiy and YZY also contributed to these deliveries.
Palace and Carhartt WIP Reunited for Their Final Collab of the Year
To start off the week, Palace collaborated with Carhartt WIP to showcase their last joint collection for the year. The 13-item assortment emphasizes several pieces made from dual-purpose Cordura® fabric, such as a Hooded Ranger Jacket and the iconic OG Chore Coat, both of which have been embellished with a shared logo at the back.
palace repurposes some of Carhartt WIP’s classic designs, such as the new Car-Lux Half Zip Sweatshirt, along with a series of embroidered hooded jersey sweatshirts and graphic t-shirts featuring vintage Palace artwork, for work.
visvim Presented a “Dissertation on Quality We Choose” for SS25
Visvim, based in Tokyo, unveiled their Spring/Summer 2025 collection titled “Quality: A Study We Embrace.” This collection explores the quality choices they make.
In this photo by Keisuke Fukamizu, a collection of simple, handcrafted clothes from a rural-inspired line is displayed outdoors. The standout pieces are the jackets, including down jackets, fishtail parkas, jacquard-lined coats, and a silk jacket with a souvenir design.
YZY Unveiled A New Gosha Rubchinskiy-Helmed Collection
YZY has dropped its new collection under the lead of Gosha Rubchinskiy.
The head of design for our label is back, presenting an update to the collection launched in March. This new collection consists of nine essential items. With a simple color palette that includes white, grey, and black, these pieces are set to arrive. You’ll find t-shirts, cropped hoodies, sweatpants, shorts, and socks among the offerings. Just like before, each item is priced at $20 USD.
BAPE x CLOT Delivered a 20th Anniversary Capsule
Edison Chen’s brand CLOT has collaborated with BAPE for a second time, creating a capsule collection inspired by Japanese artistry. The designs feature traditional Chinese symbols reinterpreted using contemporary styles. This collaboration gives a fresh twist to the classic BAPE shark figure, incorporating CLOT’s powerful dragon emblem in both green and red versions.
The new camo is printed across outerwear, tops and bottoms and even footwear, the latter surfacing in the form of a new SHARK STA sneaker.
In other places, the SHARK FULL ZIP HOODIE creatively adapts Bape’s signature style by swapping the “SHARK FACE” for a “DRAGON FACE.
Zendaya Leads Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Re-Edition Campaign – and the Collection Spans Over 200 Pieces
Louis Vuitton, in collaboration with Takashi Murakami, has formally presented their revamped collection. It’s only fitting that the campaign for this release is spearheaded by none other than Zendaya, an ambassador of the Louis Vuitton household.
In this setup, Zendaya appears in both a photoshoot and a video, wearing outfits and accessories similar to those featured in the collection, along with the designer Murakami himself.
For the collection, the 20th-anniversary reunion encompasses more than 200 items skillfully created by the duo. At the heart of this colorful reinvention is a creative interpretation of Louis Vuitton’s renowned monogram (guided by then Creative Director Marc Jacobs at that time). This lively presentation infuses Murakami’s designs throughout a variety of leather goods, accessories such as City Bags, silk squares and scarves, sunglasses, fashion jewelry, shoes, and perfumes.
In two separate releases, the initial drop of the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Murakami features the Monogram Multicolore design on City Bags against a classic white backdrop. For the second drop, the same motif appears on black backgrounds for various bags. The Louis Vuitton x Murakami collection will start taking orders from January 1, 2025, with the focus of the second launch in March 2025 being on the Cherry Blossom pattern.
