Zendaya on ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Time Jump: “Only So Much High School Drama You Can Deal With”

As a seasoned gamer of life and pop culture, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation and curiosity about the upcoming third season of Euphoria. Having grown up with these characters on screen, it’s like watching my friends navigate through their teenage years, only to now see them step into adulthood. It’s a bittersweet moment, really – I remember when Rue was just another troubled high schooler, and now she’s an Emmy-winning actress!

Zendaya is looking forward to seeing her Euphoria character out of high school in season three.

The award-winning actress, known for her role as Rue, hinted at the eagerly awaited third part of the HBO series created by Sam Levinson, which is set to explore life beyond high school after a significant time leap.

As a gamer, I get it – high school drama can be overwhelming, just like trying to level up in an MMO game with too many distractions. And when things get repetitive, like that one NPC always breaking your quest, it’s like she cheats on her boyfriend again! That’s the frustration I feel sometimes.

As an avid gamer, I can’t spill all the beans about the plot twists in Season 3 of the show, but let me tell you this – it’s going to be mind-blowingly fascinating! And guess who’s behind the scenes making sure it all comes together? None other than the talented Zendaya herself, also serving as an executive producer. Can’t wait to unravel the mysteries!

She admitted she wasn’t well-versed in current events, and while she wasn’t sure about the specific details of the upcoming season, she was certain that a leap forward in time was imminent.

The Challengers’ star added, “It’s intriguing to explore these characters beyond their high school years and witness how their past experiences shape their adult lives in a broader context. I’m curious to find out where their stories lead next.

The third season of “Euphoria” is scheduled to start filming in January 2025, with Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow among the cast members returning. Barbie Ferreira has confirmed she won’t be part of the show anymore, and tragically, Angus Cloud passed away due to an accidental overdose in July 2023.

This year, Sweeney shared that she’d be reprising the role of Cassie, which she hadn’t portrayed since the show’s second season back in 2022.

She admitted to Cosmopolitan in August that there was a significant gap between season one and two, and with the recent time leap, it’s all new territory for her. She’s essentially figuring things out as she goes along, keeping an open mind about what’s to come. Yet, she’s also thrilled. She adores Cassie, and playing such an intriguing character is always a treat, so she can’t wait to see where Cassie’s story leads.
