Crypto.com has declared they’ll contribute a million dollars towards aid during the aftermath of the devastating wildfires in California.
In a recent announcement, Crypto.com, the company behind Cronos (CRO), has pledged a total of $1 million to aid three organizations: the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, and the Los Angeles Police Foundation. This donation aims to provide essential equipment for firefighters and first responders in Los Angeles.
As stated in a recent press release by Crypto.com, the funds provided will allow crucial departments to procure essential safety gear and equipment to effectively tackle the ongoing wildfires. Moreover, these resources will aid Los Angeles firefighters and law enforcement in preparing for future disaster scenarios.
Matt David, President of North America and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Crypto.com, expressed a deep bond with the City of Los Angeles, specifically through AEG and the Crypto.com Arena. He conveyed heartfelt sympathy for everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in the area.
David mentioned that Crypto.com, along with their collaborators and the wider community, will offer assistance to individuals in distress.
In early January, California experienced an unusually high level of devastation due to widespread wildfires. As a result, numerous residents were forced to evacuate their homes, while extensive reports of property damage have surfaced.
A contribution of $100,000 has been promised by Ripple, with the intention of aiding relief efforts. This company plans to do so via World Central Kitchen and GiveDirectly. Notably, Ripple’s donation will be made in the form of XRP, which is a type of cryptocurrency.
