In a turn of events that’s as surprising as a vicar playing the stock market, Lorenzo Sewell, a pastor who delivered a prayer at the Donald Trump inauguration, has announced the launch of his very own meme coin. Yes, you read that right. A meme coin. For charity, no less!
Naturally, the crypto community has reacted with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. But then again, when has the crypto world ever been known for its restraint?

And yet, amidst all this, the one thing conspicuously absent was any mention of cryptocurrency in Trump’s speech. A missed opportunity, if you ask me. However, the photos of Trump with Sen. Lummis, who has been waging war on Operation Choke Point 2.0 and proposing the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin reserve, were met with much enthusiasm.
Enter the Man of the Hour: Rev. Lorenzo Sewell
One of the highlights of the inauguration was the three-minute-long MLK-heavy prayer delivered by Rev. Lorenzo Sewell from Detroit. With references to the famous “I Have a Dream” speech and the Declaration of Independence, Sewell’s prayer was a heartfelt plea for unity and hope.

And it seems that Sewell’s love for Dr. King didn’t end with his prayer. In a short video on X, Sewell announced the launch of his official crypto token, urging everyone to buy it to help the ministry. Because, as we all know, the best way to honor a civil rights leader is by launching a meme coin. Sewell concluded by saying, “we know that King’s dream can only be fulfilled if we acknowledge that people are living in a nightmare.”
