On February 5, it was reported by Blockaid, a blockchain security company, that approximately $25 million was stolen from around 35,000 crypto users through the use of Angel Drainer.

Around 4 PM UTC on July 16, Match Systems disclosed on platform X that they had gained ground in uncovering the creators of Angel Drainer. They invited affected individuals to share any relevant details to accelerate the ongoing probe.

Approximately 4 hours have passed since Match Systems made known that Angel Drainer had come to a halt. They unveiled a snapshot taken from Angel Drainer’s Telegram platform, where disgruntled users voiced their concerns over the app’s inoperability.

Some users reported issues with Angel Drainer, mentioning incorrect value computations and confusing prompts. They were taken aback by the requirement for manual developer adjustments.

The Pink Drainer company halted its activities on May 17, having allegedly misappropriated $85 million from crypto users. In contrast, Violet Drainer announced its closure on April 25, with its developer explaining the decision was driven by heightened challenges arising from advanced Ethereum digital wallet security measures.

The closure of Angel Drainer signifies a noteworthy triumph in the battle against crypto phishing schemes, emphasizing the necessity of continuous security measures within the cryptocurrency sector.
