BitBoy Faces Lawsuit Over Fraudulent $BEN Token Promotions

As an analyst with extensive experience in the cryptocurrency market and a keen eye for detail, it seems that the situation surrounding Ben Armstrong, or BitBoy Crypto, is becoming increasingly complex and concerning. The allegations of misleading investors, potential fraud, and questionable promotional practices are not new to the crypto world, but they certainly cast a long shadow over Armstrong’s reputation.

In simpler terms, crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, also known as BitBoy Crypto, is being sued by some token investors who bought the $BEN token. They claim that Armstrong’s promotions were misleading, leading them to believe in potential high returns. However, many investors reported substantial losses instead. The lawsuit alleges that Armstrong and his team made such promises without delivering on them.

The legal action comes amid an ongoing investigation by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) into potential fraud involving $BEN and 14 other cryptocurrencies.

On August 3rd, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued a subpoena to Hit Network, a former affiliate of Armstrong, for an investigation into transactions and digital wallet associations connected to those specific tokens.

In May 2023, the cryptocurrency BEN was introduced to the market by a well-known influencer called ben.eth. Armstrong endorsed this new venture. However, he resigned from his position as CEO of the project just a month later in June 2023.

Armstrong openly acknowledged receiving money for endorsing cryptocurrency tokens, some of which he believed were fraudulent, although he maintains that these promotions were unintentional. His connection with the $BEN token stirred tension at Hit Network, culminating in his dismissal as host in August 2023.

Apart from his professional endeavors, it’s worth noting that Armstrong has been grappling with some personal matters as well. These include accusations about drug use, which he admitted to some extent, and ongoing court battles regarding a Lamborghini with a past relationship companion.

Besides the ongoing legal disputes, Armstrong himself has been embroiled in another lawsuit – an earlier defamation case against another influential figure, Atozy, which he subsequently withdrew. Due to this and other factors, Armstrong’s reputation is under intense examination as he navigates his cryptocurrency-related endeavors, facing significant scrutiny.
