🚀 Bitcoin analyst PlanB just made a big move! He’s transferring his BTC holdings to ETFs, and the crypto community is buzzing with talk about self-custody.
🤔 PlanB, the guy behind the stock-to-flow Bitcoin price model, says he’s doing it for ease of management and peace of mind. He’s got 2 million followers, and he’s telling them that managing Bitcoin with ETFs is just easier for him.
🔑 “Not having to hassle with keys gives me peace of mind,” he said, admitting that he’s breaking away from the “not your keys, not your coins” rule.

🇳🇱 PlanB also revealed that the Netherlands’ tax structure influenced his decision. Dutch residents don’t have to pay capital gains tax on realized profits, but they do have to pay an annual wealth tax of about 2% on total assets held on Jan. 1.
🤔 The move sparked a debate in the crypto community. Taproot Wizards advisor Dan Held said it’s a matter of trust, not Bitcoin maximalism. “Do you trust yourself or do you trust someone else?” he asked.
😂 PlanB was surprised by the controversy surrounding ETFs, and he defended them as “a logical step in bitcoin adoption” alongside self-custody. He wondered if the community would react the same way to investments in MicroStrategy, another vehicle for indirect Bitcoin exposure.
