Carrie Underwood Taking ‘American Idol’ Judge’s Seat After Katy Perry Departure

As a dedicated fan who has witnessed Carrie Underwood‘s meteoric rise from “American Idol” contestant to global superstar, I am absolutely thrilled about her return to the show as a judge! It feels like coming full circle, doesn’t it? From winning season 4 in 2005 to now gracing the judging panel, Carrie’s journey is a testament to the power of dreams and determination.

The latest addition to the judging panel of American Idol is a figure well recognized by long-standing viewers of the music contest.

Country singer Carrie Underwood, victor of ‘Idol’s fourth season in 2005, will assume a judge role for the upcoming 23rd installment of the show, which is scheduled to air early next year. Filling the vacancy left by Katy Perry at the conclusion of the previous season, Underwood will join Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan who are anticipated to return.

Underwood’s return to Idol is set to be formally announced Thursday. ABC declined comment.

More to come.
