In a surprising turn of events, Charles Hoskinson, the illustrious founder of Cardano (ADA), has spilled the beans on his clandestine meetings with Ripple‘s bigwigs, Brad Garlinghouse and David Schwartz. The topic of discussion? A tantalizing possibility: RLUSD.
Hoskinson dropped this bombshell during a recent AMA session on Youtube, leaving the crypto community in a tizzy. However, Ripple requested that they hold off on any further negotiations until they’ve wrapped up their business with the NYDFS in March.
Despite the current market slump, Hoskinson remains optimistic about Cardano’s standing. Although ADA’s price took a 19% nosedive in 24 hours and a 23% dip in a week, it fared better than other heavyweight cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin, Solana, and Binance Coin (BNB).
Hoskinson playfully attributed the market’s previous overexcitement to the high hopes pinned on Donald Trump’s presidency. Nevertheless, he maintains a sunny disposition about the crypto market’s prospects in the long run.
Looking ahead, Hoskinson foresees blockchain technology playing a pivotal role in governmental structures. He even suggested that, in five years, voting, purchasing items, and identity management could all be facilitated by blockchain technology. In an unexpected twist, Hoskinson proposed that the U.S. government could establish a Bitcoin reserve, with Cardano potentially underwriting decentralized finance (DeFi) for the government. Such a move, Hoskinson speculated, could significantly bolster Cardano’s influence in the ever-evolving blockchain landscape.
