Coinbase to list Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT) on Solana

Coinbase has announced support for the meme coin Peanut the Squirrel.

On January 14, 2025, at 9:00 am Pacific Time, the platform intends to initiate Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT) token trading on the Solana network, provided that sufficient liquidity is available.

When a plentiful amount of this asset becomes available, we’ll gradually introduce trading with the PNUT-USD pair on our platform. Please note that availability of PNUT might be limited in certain regions where our services are offered.”

This version maintains the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-understand language.

Meme coin transfers as tokens have been made accessible on both Coinbase and Coinbase Pro, but availability may vary based on the regions where trading is supported.

Approximately a month ago, PNUT was listed on a U.S. stock exchange, which followed an indication by Coinbase in early December that they would be adding it to their listing plan.

In November 2024, the Peanut the Squirrel meme cryptocurrency gained popularity after a contentious squirrel’s death triggered widespread anger and astonishment. This event fueled the creation of the meme coin, causing quite a stir on crypto-related Twitter. On November 14, PNUT reached its peak value at $2.47.

Despite a broader crypto market slump, the token has experienced a notable decrease. On January 13, 2025, PNUT dropped to a low of $0.46 as Bitcoin retreated to around $90,000 and Ethereum sank below $3,000 due to heightened selling pressure.

Initially peaking at a high point, PNUT has experienced a significant drop of 79%, and this downward trend continued with a 13% decrease in the last day and a 30% loss over the past month. The popular meme coin is currently being traded around $0.51 following the recent announcement by Coinbase.
