Crypto exchange OKX rolls out services in Belgium to strengthen European presence

As a seasoned financial analyst with over two decades of experience, I find OKX’s strategic expansion into Belgium a shrewd move. The partnership with Bancontact, a well-established local payment provider, ensures seamless and cost-effective transactions for Belgian customers – a crucial factor in today’s competitive crypto landscape.

OKX broadens its presence in Europe by debuting in Belgium, offering complimentary Euro deposits thanks to a collaboration with local payment service provider, Bancontact.

The cryptocurrency exchange based in the Seychelles, known as OKX, has now expanded to Belgium, providing options for spot trading, currency conversions, and various other digital asset services via both its exchange platform and digital wallet.

It has been announced that Belgian customers can now trade over 200 different cryptocurrencies, with more than 60 options for trading them against the Euro, as well as making Euro deposits and withdrawals. This announcement was made in a press release on November 28th.

The exchange says the expansion in Belgium leverages Bancontact, Belgium’s online payment system, allowing customers to deposit funds instantly and free of charge. SEPA withdrawals and deposits are also available without fees.

As the general manager of OKX Europe, I am thrilled to announce that our launch in Belgium signifies a significant milestone in our regional growth strategy. Our dedicated local team and customized services will cater specifically to the distinctive requirements of our Belgian clients, ensuring a seamless and satisfying user experience.

The upcoming launch in Belgium is just one step in OKX’s broader goal to strengthen its presence throughout Europe. Earlier this year, the platform made its debut in the Netherlands and revealed intentions to set up a regulatory center in Malta, where it obtained a Class 4 Virtual Financial Assets license back in 2021. The exchange has expressed its ambition to add more tokens for Belgian users as part of their ongoing growth strategy, but specifics regarding this project are still under wraps.
