Crypto Investor Shares Rare Glimpse of Bitcoin Mining in Bhutan

As an analyst with over two decades of experience in the tech and finance sectors, I find the recent developments in Bhutan’s Bitcoin mining operations to be quite intriguing. Having visited over 50 countries and witnessed various technological advancements, I must admit, the sight of Bitcoin mining rigs humming in the heart of Bhutan’s lush jungles is a spectacle seldom seen.

Recently on ‘X’, Alex v. Frankenberg – a well-known cryptocurrency investor – published an exclusive video showcasing Bitcoin Mining taking place deep within the lush forests of Bhutan, a secluded country nestled in the Himalayas. Bhutan is recognized as one of the top countries globally for Bitcoin mining, yet there is little information available on the extensive government-backed mining activities carried out there.

In the video, Frankenberg urges viewers to listen to the sound of Bitcoin mining rigs, coming from large mining facility in the hilly regions. The video by Frankenberg gives us a never before seen footage of crypto mining in Bhutan.

It’s evident that tranquil Bhutan, renowned for its global peace and harmony, is warmly adopting cryptocurrency advancements, as the video demonstrates.

Frankenberg disclosed to his followers that the Bitcoin mining operation in Bhutan runs exclusively on renewable energy sourced from hydropower. Moreover, he mentioned that visitors are prohibited from approaching the facility.

Smaller countries such as Bhutan and El Salvador are aggressively exploring the benefits of cryptocurrency technology, while larger nations like the U.S., China, and the U.K. continue to deliberate on how to incorporate these innovations.

Lately, Bhutan has climbed up to become the fourth-biggest possessor of Bitcoins, amassing a total of 13,011 Bitcoins in its reserves. This places it above El Salvador, which currently holds approximately 5,800 Bitcoins as of August.
