CryptoPunk #635 Sells for 4,000 ETH, valued at $12.41M

As someone who has closely followed the NFT market, especially the sales of CryptoPunks, I find the recent sale of CryptoPunk #635 for 4,000 ETH, valued at $12.41 million, to be an intriguing development. The seller agreed to a lower price than what was previously offered, with someone bidding 4,440 ETH or $16.38 million back in March but ultimately withdrawing the offer.

On Thursdays, a significant sale took place for the sixth priciest CryptoPunk NFT – #635. According to the CryptoPunk platform, this non-fungible token was traded for an equivalent of 4,000 Ether. With current Ethereum values, this transaction amounts to approximately $12.41 million.

Surprisingly, the seller accepted a price lower than previously proposed. On March 5, someone placed a bid for 4,440 ETH, equating to a value of approximately $16.38 million before retracting it on April 22.

Among the 10,000 NFTs in the collection, this particular piece stands out as one of nine unique “AlienPunks.” Additionally, it boasts rare characteristics with regular shades and a bandana accessory.

In 2023, the transaction of CryptoPunk number 6354 ranks as the third costliest sale of this specific collectible, following two other sales. The first occurred on March 4, when CryptoPunk number 3100 was bought for 4,500 Ether, equivalent to a value of approximately $16 million. The second transaction took place on March 20 and involved the purchase of CryptoPunk number 7804 for around 4,850 Ether or roughly $16.42 million.

In the current market scene, CryptoPunk managed to maintain its substantial value this year, unlike its competitors. The minimum price for a Bored Ape Yacht Club token dipped to around 12.2 Ether or approximately $38,000, whereas CryptoPunk’s floor price is now estimated at roughly 38 Ether or about $118,400.
