Degen chain network halts production for over 42 hours

As a crypto investor with experience in using various blockchains and decentralized applications, I’m deeply concerned about the ongoing network issues affecting both Degen and Apex chains. The prolonged downtime, especially on the Degen chain, which is widely used by Farcaster users, is not only frustrating but also impacting my investment and engagement in the meme coin community.

The Degen blockchain has been idle for more than 42 hours, surprising as a scheduled network resynchronization was anticipated to wrap up by early Tuesday.

As a crypto investor, I’d put it this way: According to Conduit’s assessment, the Degen L3 resync should be finished by 6 AM Pacific time. Following the resynchronization, they will conduct thorough tests to guarantee that all data influenced by the reorganization is successfully restored. We regret any inconvenience caused during this downtime. For further details, kindly refer to Conduit’s latest post.

Last Friday, Conduit, the external infrastructure supplier for Degen, reported disruptions on an additional blockchain, specifically Apex from Proof of Play. After implementing a configuration update, these issues emerged.

“Conduit reported that following a custom configuration modification at 2:01 PM Eastern Time on Friday, the Degen and Apex chains experienced interruptions in batch posting around 11 AM Pacific Time. Once operations resumed, the first batches initiated reorganizations on each of these chains.”

Conduit is collaborating with Degen, Apex, and Offchain Labs to resolve these issues.

As a researcher involved in this project, I’m collaborating closely with both teams and Offchain Labs to resolve any issues and limit disruption for our users.

Although the Degen chain has gained favor among Farcaster users due to its interaction capabilities with the meme coin sector, a prolonged downtime has halted all new transactions from being logged on the blockchain for the past two days, according to the chain’s explorer.
