French firm SG-FORGE to launch stablecoin on XRP ledger

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience navigating the ever-evolving digital asset landscape, I find Societe Generale-FORGE’s decision to launch EURCV on the XRP Ledger in 2025 not only strategic but also highly promising.

In 2025, Societe Generale-FORGE plans to debut their Euro-backed digital currency, EURCV, on the XRP platform.

With the release on XRPL, SG-FORGE is continuing to broaden its horizons using a multi-chain strategy – a move that follows previous launches on Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL).

Migrating to the XRP Ledger (XRPL), SG-FORGE intends to leverage XRP’s affordable and swift network for increased dissemination of its digital currency, aiming at boosting its usage in international transactions.

SG-FORGE, an offshoot of the major French bank Societe Generale, focuses on creating blockchain technologies tailored for conventional financial systems as part of its specialized division for digital assets.

Stablecoin integration with MiCA

The design of SG-FORGE’s EURCV has been tailored to conform to MiCA regulations, ensuring a seamless fit with European legal requirements, focusing on transparency, safeguarding consumers, and maintaining market honesty and stability.

SG-FORGE stands out as a pioneer in merging digital assets with the financial system, emphasizing on creating compliant, high-quality solutions that are compatible across various blockchain platforms.

As an analyst, I’ve been closely involved with SG-FORGE since its inception, and one of my key responsibilities has been the development and introduction of digital products tailored to comply with European regulations, specifically those outlined under MiCA.

Digital currencies, such as EURCV, are linked to traditional assets, usually fiat currencies like the euro, to ensure their value remains consistent. Unlike digital currencies like Bitcoin (BTC) that can have significant fluctuations, stablecoins offer a more reliable and less risky method for transactions.

From the time it was launched in 2012, XRPL has handled approximately 2.8 billion transactions and boasts a user base of over 5 million active digital wallets.

Guillaume Chatain, who holds the position of Chief Revenue Officer at SG-FORGE, sees the XRPL as a vital strategic choice for EURCV. The ledger’s rapid speed and cost-effectiveness line up perfectly with SG-FORGE’s aspirations for future digital assets in the modern era.

Motivated by a goal to provide institutional-grade, compliant, swift, and safe digital assets, we’ve chosen XRPL as the platform for our stablecoin debut. This marks the start of something bigger.

2025 marks the year for the rollout of this integration, which falls under SG-FORGE’s continuous efforts in blockchain development, aiming to solidify EURCV as a trustworthy digital currency option within institutional finance.
