Hex Founder Heart Wanted for Tax Fraud and Minor Girl Assault: Interpol

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience in the industry, I’ve seen my fair share of controversies and scandals involving prominent figures. However, the latest development surrounding Richard Heart leaves me utterly shocked and dismayed.

Richard Heart, the creator of widely recognized Ethereum token Hex, is now wanted internationally due to allegations of severe tax evasion and physical harm inflicted upon a 16-year-old girl, as indicated by an Interpol red notice.

A red notice, requested by Finnish authorities, has been issued by Interpol for 45-year-old Richard Schueler, also known as ‘Richard ‘Heart’. This notice doesn’t equate to an international arrest warrant; instead, it signifies a request for cooperation in locating him. The Finnish police are currently investigating two different criminal matters involving Heart.

Previously this year, Heart found himself on the European Most Wanted List due to identical allegations. The authorities are investigating Heart for alleged tax fraud that occurred between 2020 and 2024. A warrant for his arrest was initially issued on September 13, 2024.

According to the charges on the EU Most Wanted List, Schueler intentionally neglected his tax obligations to evade paying taxes. Specifically, he didn’t file business tax returns for numerous years and left crucial income information blank on pre-filled personal tax forms. The income Schueler earned from his business or other income-generating activities was not reported to the Tax Administration, resulting in a significant tax evasion estimated in hundreds of millions of euros.

In a separate case, Heart is wanted by authorities for assaulting a minor girl in Finland.

The accusations against Heart allege that he forcibly attacked a 16-year-old by seizing their hair, pulling them towards a stairwell, and causing them to fall to the ground. While the victim was flat on their back on the floor, it’s claimed that Heart struck them approximately four to five times in the face, nose, eyes, and head area.
