Approximately eleven Israeli vacationers experienced a robbery amidst a harsh assault that occurred at Santa Teresa de Cóbano beach, located in the region of Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
During a social gathering, the theft took place as the group was present. At least eight individuals, who turned out to be the perpetrators, approached them. Two luxury cars carrying the assailants arrived, and they managed to subdue the group’s security personnel.
Suspected of possessing police-like training, the thieves compelled tourists to give up their possessions, which included a significant quantity of Bitcoin (BTC). Security camera recordings depict the culprits, some donning what seemed to be police garb, transporting the victims from one place to another.
A group of 11 tourists from Israel were violently robbed in Costa Rica by eight suspects who managed to overpower their security guard. The stolen loot consisted of approximately $700,000 worth of bitcoin. Reviewing surveillance footage has led investigators to believe that the culprits may have ties with the local police force.

Insider job?
It’s suspected that the attackers might have gotten insider knowledge about the tourists’ financial transactions, implying there could be someone among them who provided this information to the perpetrators. The Judicial Investigation Agency is diligently pursuing any potential clues regarding the incident.
It’s suspected that the robbery was an insider job because the culprits were aware of the Bitcoins. The police are still investigating, aiming to catch the thieves and retrieve the stolen property. The inquiry is currently underway.
