Jack Dorsey’s Bitkey Adds MoonPay to Simplify Bitcoin Purchases

As a seasoned crypto investor with a strong focus on Bitcoin and a commitment to security, I’m thrilled about this latest collaboration between MoonPay and Bitkey. Over the years, I’ve come across numerous wallets and on-ramp solutions, but none have quite caught my attention like these two companies.

Exciting update: MoonPay’s Bitcoin access is now available on BitKey Official, the latest self-custody Bitcoin wallet from the Proto Team at Blocks. Together, we’re bringing Bitcoin closer to more people.

The announcement revealed that this connection is unique to the latest Bitkey hardware wallet, unveiled in March. Bitkey’s objective is to simplify and enhance security for Bitcoin transactions through eliminating the requirement for passwords or seed phrases by employing a “2-of-3” multi-signature setup and self-custody solution.

Keith Grossman, President of Enterprise at MoonPay, announced, “We’re initiating our partnership at an opportune time as Bitkey broadens its market reach. The collaboration was swiftly accomplished within a few weeks, and we’re thrilled to facilitate Bitcoin interaction for Bitkey users.”

Grossman highlighted the convenience of Bitkey as it no longer necessitates customers switching to another application. Instead, users can effortlessly purchase Bitcoin through MoonPay, which is integrated directly into Bitkey. MoonPay’s acceptance in over 180 countries and support for transactions up to $10,000 adds to the ease of use.

Thomas Templeton, the head of Proto – the team behind BitKey – expressed their mission, saying, “As we develop a wallet that enables the next 100 million users to have full control over their bitcoin, we are actively seeking reliable partners to streamline self-custody for our clients.”

Plans unveiled for seamless integration of Bitkey into MoonPay’s crypto-to-fiat exchange by year’s end, allowing users to convert Bitcoin into local currencies effortlessly within the app. Bitkey offers enhanced security measures including PIN and fingerprint verification, as well as compatibility with the Lightning Network for swift, affordable transactions.

Block’s Square platform and Cash App, famously linked with Bitkey for convenient Bitcoin withdrawals, are integral components of Block’s extensive network. This move showcases Block’s commitment to improving Bitcoin’s functionality and availability, all while adhering to stringent security standards.
