As a researcher with years of experience observing the evolution and impact of technology on societies, I find myself deeply concerned by recent developments in Brazil. The swift and decisive action taken by Judge Alexandre de Moraes to suspend X, a platform that has become an essential tool for communication and information exchange, raises serious questions about freedom of speech and the rule of law.
As a researcher, I am sharing that I, myself, have observed a development whereby a Brazilian Supreme Court justice has taken the step to temporarily halt the operations of social media platform X (previously recognized as Twitter) within the nation’s borders. This decision was made following the platform’s failure to assign a legally designated representative within the 24-hour timeline established by the court.
The regime in Brazil just ordered:
– 𝕏 to be taken down within 24 hours
– App stores have 5 days to comply
– $8,874 daily fines for using VPNEVERYONE NEEDS TO WAKE UP.
Yes, it could happen here too.

According to Judge Alexandre de Moraes, it has been ordered that access to X be blocked in Brazil by the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) within the following 24 hours.
Moreover, the judge has ordered Apple and Google to take down X from their app marketplaces within the next five days. Additionally, the judge has set a daily fine of R$50,000 ($8,000) on any individual in Brazil found attempting to circumvent the ban through VPNs or similar methods.
As someone who has lived and worked in Brazil for several years, I have witnessed firsthand the impact that social media platforms can have on society. In my opinion, Moraes’ criticism of a major platform for promoting a “lawless land” is not unfounded. The spread of hate speech and anti-democratic content on these sites can be alarming, especially when it incites violence or undermines the democratic process.
In response to this, Elon has taken to X to accuse the Brazil government of oppression and even called Judge Alexandre de Moraes an “Evil Dictator”
Alexandre de Moraes is an evil dictator cosplaying as a judge.
