The EFCC, Interpol, and Kenyan police are negotiating the extradition of the Binance executive.
According to local news sources, Nadeem Anjarwalla, an executive at Binance, is expected to be surrendered by Kenyan law enforcement to Nigerian authorities within the next seven days.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria (EFCC), Interpol, and the Kenyan Police are close to reaching an agreement. Specifics about the extradition procedure should be finalized in the near future.
“The EFCC’s assumption of prosecution for Binance leaders signifies a firm commitment to curb manipulations and instability in Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.”

Companies’ actions involving exchange workers could make those employees liable and potentially face charges in legal proceedings, according to law enforcement’s perspective.
Later on, Anjarwalla’s wife refuted the allegations regarding her husband’s extradition. The law enforcement authorities declined to verify reports about Anjarwalla being extradited.
In late February 2024, Anjarwalla, Binance’s Regional Director for East and West Africa, together with Tigran Gambaryan, the head of Binance’s financial crimes department, were taken into custody by Nigerian authorities. Binance’s high-ranking officials faced accusations of tax avoidance and money laundering.
Towards the end of March, it is said that Anjarwalla managed to flee Nigeria using a Kenyan passport. Nigerian authorities, with the help of Interpol, successfully tracked down and apprehended the Binance executive in Kenya upon receiving a request from the Nigerian Bureau of Interpol.
