Kraken Secures MiFID License for EU Expansion

Oh, joy! Oh, rapture! ๐ŸŽ‰ Kraken, the crypto exchange, has finally gotten its EU license! ๐Ÿ™Œ It’s like they say, “You can’t have too much of a good thing”… except when it comes to regulatory bodies, then you can have too many! ๐Ÿ˜‚

They got it by buying a Cypriot investment firm, which is just a fancy way of saying they found a company that wasn’t completely terrible and got it approved by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). ๐Ÿค

This is a big deal, folks! ๐ŸŽŠ It means they can now sell those pesky little crypto derivatives to all the fancy-pants traders in the EU. And by “fancy-pants,” I mean the kind of people who actually know what they’re doing. ๐Ÿค“

Shannon Kurtas, the Co-GM of Pro & Exchange, said, “As we continue to expand our services across the globe, our focus on the European market remains a top priority.” Yeah, because nothing says “top priority” like getting a license from the EU. ๐Ÿ™„

Europe is a big market for crypto derivatives, so Kraken is trying to get in on the action. And by “action,” I mean the action of making money off of people who don’t know what they’re doing. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Kraken has always been all about regulated trading. They were the first approved crypto futures platform in the UK, back in 2019. And by “first,” I mean they were the first ones who didn’t get shut down by the FCA. ๐Ÿคฃ

So, there you have it. Kraken has its EU license, and it’s ready to take on the world. Or, at the very least, the European market. ๐ŸŒŽ
