Lindsay Lohan’s acting career is poised for further growth, building upon the comeback she started some years ago. She has already made Christmas rom-coms successful on Netflix, and now she aims to collaborate with a different streaming platform for her debut in a scripted TV series as the main character.
As a movie critic, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be closely watching the Hulu drama series, “Count My Lies,” based on Sophie Stava’s novel. This captivating production hails from the creative minds at 20th Television and the dynamic duo, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger – known for their work on the critically acclaimed, emotionally resonant show, “This Is Us.” Not only will I be gracing the screen as the leading actress, but I’ll also be contributing my creative insights as an executive producer. Buckle up, folks; this promises to be a rollercoaster ride of drama and emotion!
What Is ‘Count My Lies’ About?
Revealing Deceptions”
The series revolves around Sloane Caraway, a habitual liar, who employs her talent of bluffing to secure a position as a nanny for the captivating and charming couple, Violet and Jay Lockhart. However, what she may not realize is that she’s stepped into a household teeming with secrets, secrets on the verge of eruption, which could have disastrous repercussions for everyone involved. As per sources, Lohan will be portraying Violet Lockhart.
If the show gets greenlit, it will mark the first time she takes the lead role, given that her previous TV roles were mostly guest appearances on shows like “Ugly Betty”, “Eastbound & Down”, “2 Broke Girls”, and “Glee”. In 2019, she also ventured into reality TV with the MTV series “Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club”, which documented her business expansion by managing beach clubs in Mykonos, Greece.
Lindsay Lohan kickstarted her acting career at a tender age, achieving breakthrough fame with her role in the modern adaptation of Disney’s “The Parent Trap” in 1998. The film’s success catapulted her into numerous Disney productions such as “Life-Size” and “Get a Clue”. She continued to shine on the big screen, with hits like “Freaky Friday” in 2003. By the time “Mean Girls” hit the screens in 2004, Lohan had firmly established herself as one of Hollywood’s prominent teen idol-leading actresses.
Regardless of her achievements, Lindsay Lohan has faced numerous personal issues that often made headlines. Over time, these troubles overshadowed her professional work, with frequent court appearances and legal problems dominating the narrative about her. As a result, her career experienced significant setbacks for several years. However, from 2016 to 2018, she decided to step away from public view and focused on opening three beach clubs in Greece instead.
After taking a break from Hollywood, Lohan used the time productively to improve her life and re-launch her acting career. She secured a multi-picture deal with Netflix, which resulted in the successful holiday movies “Falling for Christmas,” “Irish Wish,” and “Our Little Secret.” As her career was resurging, she married Bader Shammas in 2022, and in 2023, they welcomed their first child. This summer, Lohan will be back on the big screen in “Freakier Friday,” a sequel to the popular 2003 film co-starring Jamie Lee Curtis.
