As a devoted admirer, in 2019, I was captivated when LOEWE’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson, unveiled the original Ballet Runner. It was a pioneering piece that spearheaded the comeback of retro running sneakers, making waves across the footwear industry. Now, the iconic Spanish fashion label has given us a fresh take on this design with the Ballet Runner 2.0 – enriching details and an array of vibrant new colors.
The updated design includes additional weight, decorative layers, and an advanced sole on this new version. Available in seven color options, the revamped model is manufactured using both nylon and calfskin materials, featuring an asymmetrical toe box, a snug, sock-like interior, and a textured rubber outsole that’s visible at the toe cap.
Once again, Loewe’s large, flowing cursive ‘L’ symbol graces the side panel as the primary decoration. The square emblem of the brand is subtly etched into the tongue label. Besides the traditional brand markings, a new rubber Loewe logo is prominently displayed on the heel tab.
1. Option A: The nylon versions are available in two timeless black-and-white hues, plus two vibrant colors inspired by Nike’s iconic Forrest Gump Cortez color schemes. Meanwhile, the leather variants, crafted in white, black, and cinnamon, boast a predominantly single-tone color scheme, offering a sleek and minimalistic choice.
2. Option B: The nylon versions come in both traditional black-and-white shades and two lively colors that echo the popular hues of Nike’s Forrest Gump Cortez shoes. On the other hand, the leather options, produced in white, black, and cinnamon, primarily feature a simple color palette, providing an understated and refined option.
3. Option C: Two classic black-and-white nylon designs are accompanied by two eye-catching colors that mimic the well-known color schemes of Nike’s Forrest Gump Cortez shoes. Conversely, the leather versions, manufactured in white, black, and cinnamon, predominantly sport a one-tone palette, offering an upscale and streamlined selection.
4. Option D: The nylon models are offered in a pair of classic black-and-white tones as well as two dazzling colors reminiscent of the distinctive colorways from Nike’s Forrest Gump Cortez lineup. In contrast, the calfskin leather versions, produced in white, black, and cinnamon, primarily showcase a single-hue color scheme, providing an understated yet sophisticated option.
