London’s Eastbrook Studios Opens Doors for Hollywood Production

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Hackman Capital Partners, known for its ownership of iconic studios like L.A.’s Culver Studios and New York’s Silvercup Studios, has just announced the grand opening of London’s biggest film and TV production complex. This is a significant milestone in the world of entertainment!

Eastbrook Studios is an expansive 21.5-acre campus that houses 12 custom-built soundstages, ranging from 16,000 to 32,000 square feet each. The opening of this film complex coincides with the UK government’s decision to offer a corporate tax rate reduction of 40% for film and television studio facilities until 2034, as well as introducing a fresh independent film incentive of 40%.

The UK’s significant tax credits and abundant talent pool have positioned it as a primary production site for Hollywood studios and streaming platforms, focusing on blockbuster films and top-tier television productions.

In simpler terms, Brantley Bissett, who used to work at Netflix and now manages Eastbrook Studios, described their facility as having state-of-the-art stages that can accommodate productions of all sizes and types. He also mentioned that this creative center in London is one of the best in the world. He’s very proud to provide top-notch infrastructure for both domestic and international production.

Concurrently, following the 2023 Hollywood strikes, there’s been a decrease in production budgets for films and TV shows by major studios and streamers across the UK and other regions. Simultaneously, escalating construction costs in key cities worldwide have slowed down the process of opening new or unfinished film studios on both sides of the Atlantic.

In 2020, Hackman Capital emerged victorious in a competitive bidding war for the opportunity to construct on a 21-acre plot located in the town of Dagenham, East London. The company pledged to inject over $420 million into this project, with the finished property to be known as Eastbrook Studios.

The finished movie studio will be managed by an associate of Hackman Capital Partners and The MBS Group, namely Eastbrook Studios. This studio is among the 19 production sites with 145 pre-existing soundstages that are operated by Hackman Capital and The MBS Group across North America, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
