As a seasoned crypto investor with a knack for spotting trends, I find MicroStrategy’s latest move to be nothing short of brilliant. Having been around during the dot-com boom and bust, I’ve learned that companies that embrace innovation and take bold steps often reap significant rewards.
Recently, MicroStrategy unveiled a job position for a Bitcoin Promoter within their organization, which is an extension of their ongoing strategy to amass Bitcoin holdings.
Michael Saylor’s company is looking for an individual to organize their yearly “Bitcoin for Businesses” event and lead educational initiatives aimed at fostering greater corporate adoption of Bitcoin. Additionally, this role involves setting up a Bitcoin outreach center right here in Washington, D.C.
The job advertisement underscores MicroStrategy’s ongoing commitment to promoting Bitcoin, as they embarked on a substantial Bitcoin purchasing spree back in 2020.
Currently, the company owns roughly 252,220 Bitcoins, which they acquired for an average cost of about $39,266 per Bitcoin. This amounts to a total investment of around $9.9 billion. With the current Bitcoin price hovering around $62,067, the company’s Bitcoin holdings are now worth approximately $15.6 billion.
Additionally, the “Bitcoin for Businesses” conference, organized by MicroStrategy, remains popular among corporations that are supportive of Bitcoin. Metaplanet, a Japanese corporation, recently joined this movement in July and has amassed over 500 Bitcoins since they began their strategy in May 2024, suggesting a high level of corporate interest in the adoption of Bitcoin.
As an analyst, I find it intriguing that MicroStrategy’s strategic approach to amassing Bitcoin resonates with their broader, forward-looking perspective. This strategy positions Bitcoin as a valuable corporate asset, and their recent initiatives, such as assuming an advocacy role and organizing conferences, underscore this commitment.
