Overwhelming demand delays Solayer’s LAYER token sale after 15x registration surge

Solayer is pushing back the commencement of the community token sale for LAYER tokens until December 16, 2025, at 10:00 Universal Time Coordinated (UTC).

The scheduled community sale for Solayer, a restaking network on the Solana blockchain (SOL), has been pushed back due to an overwhelming response. Buidlpad, the platform handling the sale, announced on January 13 that they received 15 times more registrations than expected, leading to this delay.

On January 10th earlier this month, the platform unveiled the commencement of the Solayer community token sale, allowing individual investors to register for the chance to acquire LAYER tokens.

The allocations will be decided according to the sale guidelines.

At the Solayer community sale, the smallest investment required is fixed at 100 US Dollars Coin (USDC), or its equivalent value. The maximum investment is limited to 2,000 USDC. However, whitelisted and registered Key Opinion Leaders have a higher investment limit that can reach up to 5,000 USDC or its equivalent.

As an analyst, I would explain it this way: If our community sale becomes overfunded, we’ll distribute the available tokens proportionally based on each participant’s subscription amount and the total number of tokens offered during the sale. Any excess payments made by participants will be returned to their wallets as payment tokens by 10:00 AM (UTC) on January 15, 2025.

It’s important to note that the platform firmly disallows bots and farming activities, as these practices are commonly employed to amass an unbalanced amount of tokens, which can lead to unfair distribution.
